“But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.  For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.” – Matt 13:16-17 (NIV84)

Over 50 disciples from the Phoenix church journeyed to this year’s Global Leadership Conference, “Prophets & Kings!”  Of those 50, three had just been baptized a few days before – Paulina Rivera, Marina Holder, and Jackson Berry.  It has been so inspiring to see many brothers and sisters (and those studying the bible to become disciples) participating in the fundraising, planning, praying and persevering to participate in this year’s powerful conference.  There was over $2,100 raised by “Tagging in Tempe” – and every time we went out there we handed out 80 to over 120 invitations to church!

To God be the glory that we were able to raise funds and evangelize together!  I was particularly moved by Ron Harding’s speech Isaiah & The Jerusalem Remnant and Tim Kernan’s lesson about Daniel & Nebuchadnezzer .”  Ron’s lesson emphasized the need for us to have vision for each other and see what good God sees, despite the weaknesses and wounds.  The scriptures make it clear that having a deep vision and a resilient hope in the “veteran” disciples is Godly, loving, and necessary!  It is these “remnant” disciples who are making their way back to God and his modern day movement that will bring tempered wisdom and years of experience with them.  Tim preached powerfully three key principles from the book of Daniel captured in his points: (1) Be Holy – In A Strange Land!; (2) Be Faithful – On A Hard Road!; (3) Be Urgent – For The Time Is Near!  The image of Jesus poised to strike the first blow in the day of Judgment with his legions of angels ready at his mark is a salient reality and moves us to act and to understand there is nothing else but God’s Kingdom.  These two lessons and many more from the conference are all now on our phxicc.org homepage, downloadable and/or streamed as mp3s.  Let me encourage you to open your heart and feast your ears on the rich, inspiring, and absolutely practice teaching you’ll find there.

Amy and I were very encouraged and honored to have been able to be a part of the initial graduating class of the ICCM and to be recognized with a BA in Ministry!  Please pray that we can begin a satellite ICCM school here in Phoenix by 2015!

And now, let’s hear from several brothers and sisters who attended this year’s GLC!

Monica Willson: The 2013 GLC was fantastic!! Disciples from all around the world coming together unified in doctrine and vision to change the world was so incredibly encouraging! I’m grateful for the call to excellence and the many, many, many, practicals on how to turn this world upside down for God!

Alphonso Davis: Old friends, new friend, restorations, baptisms, and great messages full of inspiration, conviction, and love. I truly felt as if I was in the presence of God. To see and hear all the things that God is doing in our movement. This was the best time I’ve had in a long time. I can’t wait to attend the 2014 GLC.

Santana DeJesus:  The GLC was absolutely incredible, I was in awe of God and how he so graciously allows me to be a part of the Kingdom. I learned so much in the intern seminar, the lesson was entitled “Excellence in Everything.”  I was convicted to make sure that I have an excellent understanding of the first principles so I can live out my true purpose as a Women of God.  I walked away feeling excited to read my bible and set out times to go on a dates with my “Husband” – The Lord Almighty. I cried many times witnessing the appointments and reinstatements  of new evangelist and women’s ministry leaders, the GLC was truly life changing.

Vanessa Garcia:  The thing that I learned at the GLC was how to make God affect my emotions and not others. To encourage my son even at such a young age because he grows up imitating my actions. How to become a better sister to my brothers in the kingdom and encouraging them by going in dates. To use the potential that God has given me for the ministry. To grow in having deep quiet times with my father because without that time I’m useless. But most how to capture my weakness and how to make it my strength. I want God to have full confidence in me. [God] Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. (Proverbs 31:11 NIV)

Janelle Rushen:  The GLC was amazing and inspiring. Being able to see how much the kingdom has grown is truly faith building.  It inspires me every year to see that opening video and see more nations added.  The vision to see the world evangelized in our generation is happening and I am a part of doing that!

Rico Jones-Solomon: This GLC was absolutely the most impactful event I have experienced in a long time. The amount of joy, encouragement, and inspiration I received was simply blow away. The biggest thing that touched my heart this weekend was the several one on one appointments myself and Janelle had with teen and campus ministry leaders such as Luke and Brandyn Speckman and Ricky and Coleen Challinor.  I really enjoyed being able to see and learn from great and successful leaders like the ones we were able to meet up with this GLC. Nothing like learning from the best!

Chris Schultz:  While there are MANY things to take away from the GLC, the thing that I want to change in my life most is vision. Through faith in God’s power, repentance, and interlinking suffering with victory, I hope, nay, I will, do great things for God. Faith is not very powerful when you base that faith on what you currently see. I need to rely on God’s power to help me to see beyond what is tangible, so that I become less as God becomes more in my life.

The Phoenix church also has the pleasure to welcome this week a dear couple, Robb and Teresa Hamblin.  The Hamblins have two sons, Zach and Tyler, and they bring to us a wealth of spiritual maturity and experience.  They will be taking a leadership role in the Northeast house church and leading a new bible talk in North Scottsdale.  We are very grateful that God has brought them here to be part of the Phoenix church family once again!

Amen that so many of us had the privilege to participate in this year’s GLC!  Let’s hope that all of us aspire to grow and do even greater things for our God because of it – and to him be the Glory!
