House Church Sunday

Sunday Services in Small Groups (aka “Micron Church”)

Protecting God’s People & Meeting Together

Brothers and sisters, Due to the exposure and increase in COVID cases in Phoenix and Tucson, we are switching to Micron services this Sunday. I have the house church leaders working on tracking every one of their member’s exposure and COVID status, as well as who attended the Workshop events in person, virtually, or was absent. This is an effort to assess the Phoenix church and it’s overall exposure and health in light of this past weekend. It is our ambition to (1) protect God’s people and (2) allow us to meet together, in person, as much as possible, with as much awareness as possible.

Remember, the purpose of a “Micron” (Small-Group) church service is for everyone to meet in smaller groups which greatly reduces the risk of exposure/infection but also allows us to worship with Christ – [Mat 18:20 NIV] 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

These are not “zoom” services. Zoom is for people who are infected, quarantining, or who have visible cold symptoms only. Folks should be “zoomed” into their respective Micron church service which is in most cases their bible talk.

Planning To Meet All Together

After this week, we will reassess and get a plan that leads to us eventually meeting all together congregationally. This is an opportunity for us to be diligent in tracking exposure, infection, and thus risk. If we grow in this, we’ll better plan to protect each other and have flexibility in the size(s) of our meetings of the body.

Let’s consider this verse together:
1 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.(Philippians 2:1-4 NIV)

While we recognize vaccination is a deeply personal matter, in the Spirit of compassion and in considering others’ interests better than our own, please consider getting fully vaccinated. Let’s mutually do our best to respect these measures as we strive to love God, love people, and make disciples!

A Successful 2022 Winter Workshop

Despite these complications, I am so very proud of the Phoenix church hosting a multi-church conference-level winter workshop! It was truly an amazing time! I see all the evangelism and impact happening in the chats and it’s inspiring! Nothing can stop the Gospel of Christ! Nothing can stop the Holy Spirit! There is no circumstance, pandemic, event, change, or detail that can derail our purpose. Keep sowing, keep watering, and God is going to make it grow!

Love you all very much.
