Thought: How is your time with your first love going?
Rev 2:1-5
To the angel[a] of the church in Ephesus write:
These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands. 2 I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. 3 You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. 5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.
During the holidays, it is easy to go through our daily checklist each morning. Taking kids to school, shopping, making dinner, church, special events, office parties, etc.  It’s easy to lose sight of the most important thing with all we do. However, sometimes we need to slow down and get perspective on what is precious to us. Is it gifts, for us or others? Family? Relaxation? Connecting with a long lost friend? All of these things are not bad, but in order to not be “lukewarm”, we need to have the true “reason for the season”. Our relationship with God.

1 John 4:19
19 We love because he first loved us.

Thoughts for Reflection/Prayer:
How am I doing in my time in the word?  How is my Prayer life?  Am I focusing on worldly things instead of spiritual things?  How is my relationship with discipler during this time?

Col 1:28-29
28 He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. 29 To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.

Let us strive to present ourselves holy and mature to Christ during this most special holiday!
